Locopage / Fotopic problems

The British "Fotopic" company is understood to have closed down, so no "Fotopic" pages are working and maybe will never work again! Very bad news!

I will upload photos to a new site soon!

This is very sad news. Recently I heard of rumours going around telling fotopic will cease operations totally after the latest servercrash. But most users using this service hoped for a soon reappearance of this site. This hope proved wrong....
Thank you for providing this information.

A new company in making a new similar site for photos, I hope in a few weeks it will be ready and we can all see photos again!! Have to wait a few weeks!

Mortens Eisenbahnfotos / [mortenseisenbahnfotos.fotopic.net]

@Phil:
It is very sad that your beautiful photos aren't there anymore . I hope that you'll write your new site soon.
At the moment I personally don't feel like making a new site, but maybe one day...

Hi Morten

All my photos are backed up (and also the text), so I hope it will be quite an easy task to reload them. The person who set up "Fotopic" is working on a new design of photo site (www.pikfu.net) and I am sure this will be very good. I hope in a few weeks I can get all photos back on-line!

Well, if they aren't planning to "reload" our sites on the new network, I would have a problem trusting any of those people...

Unfortunately I don't know much about websites, and I didn't know how to back-up the sites, so all of the written information is lost.
Because of several computer-crashes, sadly a small amount of my pictures may not have been backed-up, but at least 95% of them I have backed-up at home.

Ron Fisher's and Geoff Plumb's Fotopic-railway pages also should be history with that. What a pity!

The Pikfu site is now on "beta" testing and photos are back online, most with captions
