Although, the model railways (Hall 4) seem to be in a declining process. I've been there on Saturday and I actually was astonished, how this exhibition changed over the years. Sure, the modular layouts were amazing and I have great respect for all the modellers. The area with commercial exhibitors was somewhat poor. The booths looked rather unfinished, Hornby had just one chair, one small desk and 4 Showcases, They even lacked to display their new line of east german coaches. ATM, Co.Met, Ma.Co.Mo, Ninive and ACME did not show up at all, only Level and Vitrains had something close to a fair like stand. Struttura Ferroviaria was downsized. Blackstar, Tommasoner and SAGI were quite nice, I had some really good talks there, also Duegi Editrice is always worth a visit. Then there were just a handfull of dealers, much less than in recent years.
In Hall 1 there was a rather amazing "Borsa Cambio", totally different to what we have here in Germany. I'll go there again next year, hoping it won't shrink any further! Seems the model railways are much better represented in Novegro in autumn. Unfortunately, I had not time left for the other halls... Doesn't matter anyway.
Cheers,
Martin
