HI fiends, during the war (second) are the coal trains from germany to italy leaded by br 52 (or else) for the entire path, or there was a change of lok in Brenner or other stations? Or loks were electric (with change at Gries)?
thank you
greetings

Hello ferrante,
I'm writing as your friend (not fiend = enemy) ;-)
Coal trains on the Brenner line were operated by single phase AC north of the border and three-phase electric current on the Italian side.

Ciao ferrante,
in addition to Ulrich's statement: From 1940 these coal-trains were hauled preferabely by brand-new class E 94 heavy freigt-train electric-locomotives. In Italy "trifase" AC-loco took over.
kind regards
Stefan
